Hey Guys! Today I’ve got a few freebies and an amazing give-away for you!
So…. I’ve been working on a project that I am really excited to share with you! But before I get in to it, let me give you just a little bit of background!
Last month I completed my December Daily album using a Simple Stories Album and photo pocket sleeves. And I loved it! I loved how quickly I was able to put my album together by just slipping my photos in to the pockets and adding some simple journaling cards. I have looked at Project Life for a couple years now and I’ve filled my cart up at Amazon and almost checked out with all the supplies dozens of times, but something has always held me back. I think part of it was just not having the workflow in my life right now to be able to complete it. Focusing for one month on getting my photos ready to print and printing them was hard enough and while I really enjoyed it, I just couldn’t imagine doing it long term. And the main obstacle I face is just that I don’t have time to edit and crop my photos. They’re all piling up on my hard-drive and I keep thinking- one of these days I will get them organized and be able to do something with them. Every once in a while, I set aside some time to process some of my photos but it is usually because I was inspired by a digital scrapbook kit that I wanted to use and I end up processing them just so I can use them in a digital layout! When it comes to processing and printing the photos from my DSLR, I find that digital memory keeping is actually easier for me.
My real problem is that a large chunk of my everyday photos are from my phone! In fact, almost 100% of my every day life photos are taken with my camera phone at this point- and I love it! I love that I’m able to capture moments as they happen without having to lug my camera with me everywhere. And anymore, I find that even when I do have my DSL camera with me, I always stop to capture a camera phone photo or two as well so I can instantly share them with my friends and family. And I’m pretty much addicted to my photo apps. I love how cute the photos turn out and how quickly I can edit and share them! [Remember my Instacation Album!]
OK! Now you’re all caught up and you hopefully see where my road blocks have been!
When I was at CHA earlier this month, I really was inspired by all of the pocket scrapping products on the market and wishing that I could find a way to work it in to my life. My only problem is, again that the majority of my everyday life photos are from my camera phone and in 1:1 ratio- either from Instagram, Hipstamatic or Picfx. To get them printed in a 4×6 or 3×4 format, I would have to edit them… and well that’s just not going to happen! LOL But there just aren’t a lot of 1:1 ratio products out there in the Project Life format. So I got to thinking…. why don’t I just make my own! I can make up a bunch of 1:1 ratio cards each month, print them myself or at Persnickety Prints and finally do something with all my camera phone pictures! ![]()
I went searching for some pocket sleeves that are solely 1:1 ratio and I found a set at We R Memory Keepers that will work perfectly! I ordered an album and the sleeves and then got to work. I made up a set of cards and sent them to Persnickety Prints, along with my camera photos- right off my phone- and two days later, I had everything I needed to scrap my photos from January! Here are some photos of the camera photos & the InstaLife cards in the album:
All together, it took me about 5 minutes to put these pages together- the majority of the time was spent trying to figure out which card to use with which photo- and now I just have to fill in the journaling. I made the cards simple, because right now I just want to focus on getting the memories documented. But I also made some patterned papers so that eventually, I can go back and do something a little scrappier with some of the pockets. I am so excited about this project that I just had to share it with you guys.
I talked to Persnickety Prints about how I could share this project with everyone and they added a product in their cart for printing up these cards [called Project Life 4x4]! You can simply download the cards and add them to your account at Persnickety as is- or if you want to get a little digi with it, you can journal on your cards first and then send them in to print! There are instructions on how to print the cards included in the zip files. Or you can print them up on your home printer and cut them out!
I also included a set of cards that you can use on your digital layouts (because all roads lead back to digi with me)! You could even use these Perfect Pockets by Tracie Stroud to give a pocket scrapped feel to your layout! This set includes a page with all 1:1 ratio pockets!
My plan is to create at least one new set each month and share it with you! If you want to get an alert when I post a new set, you can sign up for my InstaLife Newsletter Mailing List! If you are already signed up on my Ziggle Designs Newsletter- you don’t need to sign up for the InstaLife Newsletter, because I will send out updates to my Ziggle Designs Newsletter List as well!

Well aren’t you just a GENIUS?
Love this! ♥
Thanks for the post. I was thinking that those 1:1 page protectors would be great to print out digi pages. Often times when I do challenges at your fabulous store, they aren’t necessarily pages that will go into the family album and they tend to stay on my hard drive. As long as there isn’t a lot of journaling on the page and my picture isn’t itty bitty tiny, I could throw some of those extra layouts in there. Just a thought …
This is a great idea. I find that when I put my Instagram photos on my computer, I go back through them and forget how many memories I have there. I would love to have them in an album like this!
Thank you so much for the freebie! I really like this concept for project life. Thank you a whole bunch!
How fabulous! Might be fun to mix this format in with the PL format!
I’m still not sure if I’m ready to dive into a hybrid project or not. Keeping it digi for a bit longer. Maybe if I win it will force me to at least try hybrid!
love this idea, thanks for the freebies
Genius Concept Kami
Brilliant Kami! Such a great concept! <3
What a clever idea! I got a couple of those protectors with a variety pack I bought. Can’t wait to try them out with your freebies in Project Life. Thanks!
Hi Kami. I haven’t seen this idea before I love it! I have a few pictures on my camera, only 461, so I need to get snapping! Mine doesn’t take that good of photos for a Droid X. I’m getting more and more tempted to switch to an iPhone! It’s time for me to switch on Verizon if I want to, but I’ll lose my unlimited data if I get a new phone with them. Hmm.
I love your cards. They’re fun and colorful with plenty of space for journaling. I sure would love to win the InstaLife Givaway. It looks great. Thank you for all of your fun free gifts!
love it, it’s really beautiful…Thank you for the freebie!
Thanks for the freebies
Love this idea. I’ve been printing up 2×2 size and using coin page protectors from Amazon. But 4×4 is a lot easier to work with. Thans for the cards.
This is really awesome. It might even inspire me to do a daily picture after all.
Great idea! Thank you so much for sharing. I’ll have to give this a try.
Thank you so much for these. I have just started using instagram pics in my project life layouts and really have been at a loss for how to incorporate them. Love this!
Thank you so much for sharing the adorable freebies! I will definitely put these to use!

What a great idea, thank you! I am not an Instagram user but I did my picture of the day for much of 2012 using Hipstamatic, another app that results in square photos. I’ve been laying it out digitally, so I usually end up cropping or shrinking or expanding a 3×4 card to fit in a square, but this is way more awesome! I’ve signed up for your newsletter so I can follow along on your 1:1 adventures. Thanks!
Thanks for the freebies! I am trying Project LIfe this year! YOu make it seem easy!
I love this. I take mostly Instgram photos and am having trouble fitting them in. This ie the perfect solution. Thanks
You are truly a genius! My daughter and I were literally just talking about what we should do w/ all of the photos we have on our phones. I have quite a few, but she has thousands, and thousands! And she and her friends take some of the MOST fun and memorable photos ever. This is so fabulous, girl! You are a superhero!
This is awesome Kami! I love it!
your such a genius. i to use my cell cam more then regular cam . thanks so much.
Kami – you are awesome!!
I missed this when you first wrote it, but I think you have hit upon a fantastic idea!! Thanks so much for sharing your idea and your freebies! I love journaling cards and journal daily. I also take a tremendous number of iPhone photos that I want to use more of, but have been having a hard time for many of the same reasons that you have. You rock!!!!!
love the freebies, tnahk you so much!!
What a clever, clever idea! Project Life using square framing, I like it.
