Happy New Year!!  I hope you all are having a beautiful 2015.  So far– things are looking good!  LOL  It’s only been three days, but I have to say they’ve been an awesome three days!

I’m working on a blog post comparing laser printed collage papers with inkjet printed collage papers and I hope to finish that up and get it posted soon but I also have a couple things I wanted to share with you so I thought I would post those now!

First, if you haven’t heard yet…. we have a really super, awesome fun event coming up in March:

Yeah!  I know right!!  For more information and to find out how you can start getting ready to come play with us, check out the Scrap-Con Blog!

Second, I am teaming up with The Daily Digi to offer a FREE set of journal cards every month for all you pocket scrappers and device scrappers out there!  You can also print them up to use in your papers albums or projects and, as always, use them on your digital layouts!

The first set it up so head on over the The Daily Digi to grab it!  Then check back every month to get a new set!

I have a new video tutorial for you!  Before I get in to the project, I want to have a little truth time:

The finished project itself is not one of my favorites.  But the process of making this project (and to be totally honest- posting this video for you) was very therapeutic for me.

My one little word for 2014 was release.  I wanted to focus on releasing a lot of things- preconceived ideas, pressure (mostly of the self-imposed variety), stress, fears, worries, regrets… just everything.  My OLW quickly evolved in to 3 little words, let it go – for obvious reasons… LOL!  I can’t tell you how many times I told myself to “let it go” in 2014 [who am I kidding- I can’t tell you how many times I sang to myself “let it go”].  It became kind of a mantra.  And I really think it worked.  I am finding that I am more forgiving to myself- and others- and that I am able to let certain things just be what they are without fussing too much about it or worrying about consequences or perceptions.

Through my 2014 journey, creating art became my therapy.  Forcing myself to accept my art as it was and to share it with others really freed me in so many ways.  So I think it’s fitting in a way that this last project of the year is not my favorite but that I am still honoring my OLW and releasing my preconceived ideas about what it should look like, releasing my fears and doubts and worries, and releasing the video tutorial for everyone to see.  I am going to let it go.

A note on my process (I can’t let it all go…. bwahahahaha)-

I would recommend holding off on the “icing” until the very end.  While I was making this I got a little lost and I decided to add the “icing” early to help me visualize how it would look, but it ended up kind of blocking me because I wasn’t able to paint and add/change things the way I would have liked.
